- Standing in normal position for talipes equinus: about 3 weeks. In order to observe improvements when walking, between 2 and 3 months, depending on the weight and other characteristics of the patient, given that the bones and other structures must reconnect and adapt to the new posture and to the new movements. In order to reach the desired result, the process is somewhat traumatic and painful, which is the normal process.
- Excessive salivation: approximately one month.
- Improved swallowing and chewing: after 30 days, approximately.
- Other, different results appear in a period of 3 to 6 months, given that blood circulation improves and the muscles can begin to fulfil certain movements and functions. Other results, such as growth, appear around one year, given that bones are allowed to grow correctly and to make corrections, in the event that there may be any deformity. New attitudes or more appropriate reactions can often be observed in the patient over time.
But this is merely a guideline and a general explanation. As I stated previously, it is impossible to perform these operations without first receiving the appropriate training and without first having practiced these operations over a sufficient period of time together with an experienced physician in this field.
My objectives:
- To provide help to disabled patients, thereby offering them the opportunity to undergo this treatment in Spain.
- To continue investigating these diseases in other scopes, such as functional diagnosis, histology and other, advanced diagnostic methods.
- To study the results of the treatment itself and search for new possibilities in order to improve the life of this group of patients.
All of the aforementioned together with specialists (neurologists, paediatricians, physiotherapists, orthopaedists and other interested specialists).
